A Bit of Borrowed History to share about Celo Soda -> "Celo was a popular celery-flavored soft drink in Florida. W. Truman Green came up with the original concoction in a Tampa drug store in 1915. The Celo Company prospered in the 1920s with the support of local investors and stockholders. Like most of the small SodaPop Bottling Plants, the Celo Company also struggled through the Great Depression. And again, like the majority, they never made it as big as Coca-Cola or Pepsi. Vernor’s Ginger Ale owned Celo in the 1940s, but the drink hasn’t been seen for many years. (Source: Sarasota Herald-Tribune, September 11 and 18, 1996)." |

My knowledge of collecting, and instinct, tells me that this particular knife, wasn't made for the collector market, but instead, designed and made for the Coca-Cola Company, for their Employees.
Because of the Quality, and where it's made, we can consider this a Top of the Line Pocket Knife. |

As we know, it's quite common to find these gems of yesteryear. But a different story, when one is found in it's original box. Especially as clean and vibrant as this box is.
Some Collectors prefer having the original boxes and or packaging. It always adds to the monetary value. This box is Exceptionally Nice. From our personal collection. This is the second time the opener has been out of it's box. First time when we originally purchased, and just now for photographing purposes. Comes with the original mount screws too. ______ The opener has a patent number, 2333088 Designed to mount on wall, cooler or machine.

We believe that the lettering was just a flaw from the factory printing. ARDMORE IT - Ardmore Oklahoma IT seems to signify Indian Territory. Which was what it was considered in the early years. Possibly IT was carried through the decades. |
