Spatz Bottling of Saugerties New York Bottles
For those of you who deal or collect SodaPopBottles, I'm going to Pop your Bottle here. No pun intended.
Starting in the 1970s right on through to the 1990s era, at various bottle, antique and other shows that we've attended.
Through those decades of dealing SodaPopBottles, I've personally sold at least a couple dozen of Spatz ACL Pop Bottles for $250.00 each one. They came in three different colors, Red, Blue and Brown, so far as I'm aware of to this day.
Besides the earlier embossed versions.
Though *common in the area they come from, when brought to another area, where they were never seen before, both collectors and dealers handed over the green backs, and or a amicable trade.
When I state "common", they really weren't common.
In all the years up in the Catskills, we've only found about three crates total. Usually picking them up one at a time.
The A.C. Spatz Bottling Works started out on Cross Street in Saugerties, N.Y. in 1888.
They bottled an assortment of flavors, as well as mineral water.
They delivered via horse and wagon, to the local Catskill areas. Sometime in the year 1911, Frederick W. Schneider,
the Proprietor at that time of A.C. Spatz Company, started to bottle various extracts and a couple other household cleaners. Later on, Spatz moved to Ulster Avenue.
to be continued....
